Colorful kites fill the sky during the 16th annual kite festival. A grand launch of more than 300 kites officially kicks off the event at 12 noon both days. See flying demonstrations of gigantic show kites (100+ feet) and stunt kite demonstrations by professional fliers from the around the Midwest. Kids can participate in kite-making and kite-decorating workshops, and there will be kite flying lessons and kite flying contests throughout the day for all ages. Bring your own kite or buy one at the event. Free kites to the first 100 kids to register for the Kids Mad Dash both days. Admission is FREE.
