After the online pre-pre-application period ends, all completed preliminary pre-applications will then be selected for placement on the Waiting List by a random lottery process. This means that the time you submit a pre-application has no effect on your position on the waiting list. 1,500-2,000 pre-applications will be chosen at random by a computer to be added to the waiting list. Completing an online pre-application does not guarantee that you will be selected for the wait list. Once the lottery is completed, you may check the website to see if your pre-application was accepted. More information will be provided after the waiting list closes.

Any Reasonable Accommodation requests must be submitted in writing and received by no later than July 10, 2024, at: City of Kenosha Housing Authority, 625-52nd Street RM 98 Kenosha, WI 53140.

This pre-application process is for the Kenosha Housing Authority’s Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program Waiting List only. Applicants already on waiting lists for other housing programs must apply separately for this program. Applicants will not lose their place on other waiting lists when they apply for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program.

For information on applicant eligibility, please see our flyer. The Kenosha Housing Authority has a local preference.  This means that applicants that reside, work or attend school in Kenosha County will be served above those residing outside this area.
