Cigarette Litter Prevention Campaign
Cigarette litter ranks number ONE as the worst litter in the United States. Some of the toxins, from cigarette litter, that leech into our waterways are lead, cadmium, and arsenic. The litter takes years to break down and hours of hard work for volunteers and city workers to clean up. Keep Kenosha Beautiful is kicking off a campaign in late spring to educate citizens about the chemical and physical harm of cigarette litter in our community. We will also be asking volunteers to join in on the effort through cigarette litter scans and surveys before and after the program.
