CITY DEPARTMENTS : CITY CLERK-TREASURER : BECOMING A POLLWORKER

Becoming a Pollworker

Pollworkers are a very important part of the operation and administration of City elections. Hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on election day, and pay ranges from $100 for a regular pollworker, to $120 for a chairman. Training classes are usually held prior to election day to help workers understand their duties and responsibilities.

On the day of the election, workers report to their designated polling place and help make the voting process go smoothly. Duties include posting voting instructions and other materials, registering voters and assisting individuals in the voting process.
